The Bodega Bay Tour
(Starts in Bodega Bay, ends near Jenner)
Self-Guided Driving Tour on CD

This tour starts with a visit to Alfred Hitchcock's famous schoolhouse used in his thriller, The Birds. You'll learn fascinating facts about this historic building and take time out for some fun photo opportunities. Oh yes - but beware of ghosts - this schoolhouse has been registered as an authentic classic haunted house!

Then it's time for a "secret" treat - you'll be directed onto one of the most beautiful backroads in all of Western Sonoma County! (It's a secret because most tourists and some locals are unaware this road even exists). Enjoy incredible photogenic views of the valley, watch sheep grazing along the hills and catch a unique and spectacular glimpse of Bodega Bay. Make sure you have plenty of space free on your camera - you're going to need it!

While in Bodega Bay you'll be directed on where to take time out for a tasty lunch with a view of the Bay, visit our favorite Harbor Seal "Moby", browse the souvenir gift shop and relax along the water. You'll also learn some interesting facts about Bodega Bay and experience "Tummy Twister Drive."

After lunch it's time to do some wine "surfing" and visit a really fun kite shop. Next you'll experience some of the most breathtaking views of the Sonoma Coast! Journey to Bodega Head and visit "Seal Rock" or take a hike on a choice of two trails high above the water and marvel at the view! Learn about Bodega Bay's mysterious "Hole in the Head" and stand on one of the beaches used in the movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

As you enjoy a scenic drive along the Sonoma Coastline, we'll have you stop along the way at several sites such as the Children's Bell Tower, "Bandit's Beach" and several "Postcard-worthy" photo locations. You'll also get the chance to experience a natural tidepool & enjoy a walk along the prarie grass with views of the ocean.

Then it's time to journey to magnificent Mastodon Rock and have your picture stamped in time alongside this "scratching post" used for herds of migrating Mastadons 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. Here you'll visit the spectacular location used for the finale of the film "The Goonies," and learn where to look for hidden seaglass in the sand. Your tour ends with a spectacular view of "Big Snake" river - a location used for the movie "Forever Young."

NOTE: This is an all-day tour lasting between 4-8 hours depending on your pace. You'll need to bring water, a camera, sunglassses, a light windbreaker jacket and good walking shoes. This tour is suitable for most adults and children aged 7 and older. Pets are restricted at most of the locations on this tour - especially the beaches.

Price: $19.99 ea. + taxes and shipping
